In this post, I will be taking you through 3 natural hair essentials you need this winter This list is to help you get through the winter season with ease and come out of it with beautiful, flourishing hair.
1. THICK BUTTERS
Natural hair is the driest type of hair there is out there and dry seasons like winters can negatively affect your hair and make your hair drier than it already is.
To help your survive survive this dry season, thick butters should be in your hair carboard to prevent your hair from drying out this winter. Thick butters are a little bit weighing on the hair and this makes it difficult for the moisture to be lost in the air.
Shea butter is a great product to use and incorporate in your hair routine. If you have low porosity hair, Shea butter can penetrate through your hair shaft if your hair is wet and if you heat it in warm water. 2.PRE-POO TREATMENT
Since you will be using thick butters and adding more products to your hair, product build-up will occur. This means that you need to clarify and shampoo your hair more often than your usually would.
As most of you know, shampoos strip your hair of its natural oils and you cannot afford to lose your oils during winter. To help retain the moisture and the oils that already exist in your hair during the shampoo process, you can do a pre-poo treatment before you shampoo your hair. 3. SATIN SCARF/ PILLOW CASE
So far, you probably realize how important moisture is for natural hair, especially during this time. So, it is very important to retain the moisture that you have been adding to your hair and one of the best ways you can do this is by sleeping on a satin pillowcase or with a satin scarf on your hair.
